What makes a college trip a fun trip? Bus journey, endless giggles, youthful energy and your badass college gang! In my case, my ‘gang’ consists of just me and my only friend in class, Prerna and trust me, we are more than enough!
The college trip provided just what we were looking for – a much-needed break from Delhi’s hustle-bustle and studies! Here are some relics…
Day 1 : Delhi – Chandigarh
The road distance from New Delhi to Chandigarh is around 246km. The cheapest way to reach Chandigarh from New Delhi is to take Kalka Shatabdi (12011/12005) which takes around 3h 25m. A drive from Delhi to Chandigarh via NH1 takes around 4 hours.
After reaching Chandigarh, our first stop was Panjab University (as it was an educational tour :p). From there, we took off to the world-renowned Rock Garden, created by Mr. Nek Chand Saini, which stands as the pride of Chandigarh.
By the time the sun set down, we completed our rock garden tour and left for Sukhna Lake which is nearby. It is a man-made marvel that lies in the foothills of the majestic Shivalik mountain range. It was created during 1958 by creating a dam on a river stream known as Sukhna Choe and the name of the lake derived from its name.
So that’s all about the first day of the trip…the next two days were also full of adventure. I will tell you all about them in the upcoming posts 😉
